The Lake was stocked in late December. Fishing Report:

Lake Roberts: Fishing was good for Trout, using worms, peach salmon power bait, and hotdogs.
Fishing was good using worms and liver for catfish. The lake is OPEN (see note below)
Gila River: Water flow is around 100cfs. Fishing has been fairly good.
Bear Canyon Lake: Fishing was fair to good for catfish using salmon eggs, powerbait, homemade dough bait. the lake is full.
Catch of the week at Lake Roberts:
On August 17th, L. Cortez caught an 18" trout using a worm.
On May 17, Keith Miller caught an 8-pound flathead catfish. He was using a worm.
Remember, we sell bait and tackle in the store :)

Note on the Lake Roberts Dam Project: There's a lot of misinformation flying around, so let's clear it up. The lake is OPEN.. the boat launch is CLOSED. shore fishing is GOOD, even with the lower water level. Lake filling up 3 to 6 inches per day. You will have to walk a little ways, but you can see the fish jumping. You can see things you never would normally and it's pretty interesting. You could still put a canoe or small boat in the lake. Get fishing licenses at Walmart or on NM Dept of Game and Fish online.

People are catching nice catfish as well as some trout and huge bass!

SO FEEL FREE TO COME ENJOY THE SUNSHINE AND FISH IN LAKE ROBERTS!
